Behind the News: DELFI

In today’s volatile and emotionally charged world, media plays a uniquely powerful role. It not only reflects reality, but often amplifies it—and at times, may even help create it.

Societal responses to this reality are increasingly polarized. Some deliberately disengage from legacy media altogether. Others dismiss opposing narratives as “fake.” Many simply consume what is presented, without questioning how stories are selected, shaped, and framed.

With the beginning of 2026, BMI Alumni Executive Club launches a new dialogue series that goes beyond opinions and headlines. Instead of debating what the media says, we will explore how it works.

Across the series, we will visit major media outlets and engage directly with their leadership to better understand how news is made:

• Where commercial, societal, and ethical pressures collide
